SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse.

This autumn, we are introducing a new position in our operations, and we are now looking for you who want to work as an operational leader with us at SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn.

Job Description

Do you want to help create the life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as an operational leader is a meaningful role. In the role of operational leader, you are responsible for institution-wide coordination and management of ongoing work outside office hours, in the evenings and nights, to promote a safe care and work environment.

You guide and support your colleagues in their work and ensure that the work is conducted legally and in accordance with applicable governing documents, methods, and set goals. Specifically, this means that you are responsible for incident management during alarm situations and take necessary actions after an incident occurs. You communicate noted deficiencies and deviations from procedures to the relevant managers. You establish and update safety assessments and make decisions regarding coercive measures according to LVU, LSU, and LVM in accordance with SiS's work and delegation order.

Other tasks that will be included are to be responsible for work clothes, other suitable administrative tasks, and to be an instructor/trainer in conflict management.

The work can often be stressful, where multiple decisions and events may occur simultaneously, and you are the steady leader who directs and distributes the work to all employees on duty.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role, we believe you are a stable person who remains calm even in stressful situations. You have a willingness and ability to act according to applicable decisions, guidelines, and policies. You have a holistic view and act in the best interest of the organization. Furthermore, you are structured in your work and have a good ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

You should also have:

  • Relevant higher education such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or another equivalent higher education, or at least a two-year vocational education (treatment pedagogue) along with experience working within SiS or similar operations.
  • Several years of experience working within SiS or another organization focused on care, treatment, and safety, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant operations.
  • Experience in leading, prioritizing, and coordinating a work group.

At SiS, we value good leadership. This means that you as a leader take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good collaboration, and are clear in your communication. Read more about our leadership.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time/part-time employment of 85-100% and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Working hours are distributed in the evening, night, but some day shifts may also occur.
