The Brain Stimulation Unit is in the startup phase and will deliver electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and later also repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to both our outpatient and inpatient patients. In the unit, you will be part of a team with nurses, doctors, and anesthesia staff. You will collaborate closely with other units within psychiatry.

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in psychiatry and several years of experience as a nurse, and who is confident in your leadership role. Experience in somatic care is also an advantage.

Your work as a nurse

You will be responsible for following the patient through the entire flow from referral to treatment and follow-up. At the Brain Stimulation Unit, our specially trained nurses will administer ECT treatment and TMS to the patients. This includes preparing the patient preoperatively and postoperatively for ECT treatment, performing standard nursing tasks such as inserting IV lines, premedicating, following up on well-being and conducting psychiatric assessments, monitoring postoperatively, and documenting in the journal.

There will be opportunities for personal development within psychiatry based on competence and interest.
