Job Description

You will be part of our team of motivated and experienced quality engineers. You will primarily work with our external value chain, supporting and reviewing our suppliers' manufacturing qualifications and actively collaborating with suppliers to ensure they meet and maintain GKN's quality standards. An important part of your work will be to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to promote long-term and successful collaboration. In addition to working with our suppliers, you will also have a broad internal network and collaborate with our ME engineers, design engineers, method specialists, and materials engineers to establish manufacturing qualification requirements and work with the same team in problem-solving and quality assurance. Teamwork is key, and as an SQE, you will enjoy the real benefit of working with dedicated and skilled colleagues from many different areas within our company.

Main Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term delivery reliability and quality.
• Actively work with and support suppliers' overall quality performance.
• Assist in the introduction and startup of new products to ensure quality requirements and timelines are met.
• Lead problem-solving and quality improvement efforts.
• Manage product qualification through First Article Inspection and Engineering Source Substantiation with suppliers.
• Introduce and follow up PPAP according to AS9145 and AS13100 with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aerospace products, processes, and technologies.
• Knowledge of quality tools and methods, such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D.
• Communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer, design engineer, or quality engineer.
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP, preferably within the aerospace industry.

Collaboration skills, initiative, and high integrity are also important traits, as well as the ability to draw insightful conclusions from data to drive improvements.

Location and Travel Expectations

This position is based at GKN Aerospace in Trollhättan. Travel, such as supplier visits, is included in the role and is done as needed.
