Långholmens Folk High School is looking for a mathematics teacher

Långholmens Folk High School is seeking a mathematics teacher for the general course. The school offers mathematics from basic level up to Mathematics 3 at the upper secondary level.

In your application, we would like you to describe your competencies and experiences in teaching the subject.

We also wish for you to indicate other subject areas and levels (basic-upper secondary) that you can teach in your application.

Experience in teaching students with difficulties in the subject and using varied methods is highly meritorious.

We prefer that you have experience teaching mathematics at a folk high school or a teaching degree, with a focus on the F-line being particularly advantageous.

Långholmens Folk High School is working to develop and formulate a new model for mathematics teaching at the school where participants work in base groups. We are also looking at how collaborative learning can be strengthened in the subject. The new colleague is expected to contribute to this development work.

The school is a small unit with short decision-making paths where the expectation for staff to actively participate in school and course development is high. School-wide themes and activities are planned collaboratively within the faculty.

We have a varied course offering; general courses, special courses, and distance courses with different orientations. At the school, you can, among other things, upgrade your basic or upper secondary qualifications or gain basic eligibility for higher education, take one of the school's writing courses, or attend a weekend course in painting. The school's programs receive high ratings in quality evaluations, and student results are also high. Staff turnover is low, and the work environment is good.

Långholmens Folk High School is a day folk high school in Sundbyberg. The main authority for the school is the LO district in Stockholm County. This means that the labor movement's values of equal worth for all people form the basis of our work. The school has a union political profile. We are proud of our school and believe that folk high schools play an important role in today's society!

Långholmens Folk High School started its operations in 1987 as a women's folk high school on Långholmen. Today, the school is centrally located in Sundbyberg, by the beautiful and tranquil Marabou Park.
