JOB DESCRIPTION

As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with clients. Work at the remand prison is often routine-based and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be held in custody for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand prison, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer. Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for other people and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop.

  • Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
  • Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
  • Good computer skills.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Work experience in corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social services.
  • Knowledge in relevant fields, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
  • A valid driver's license (B).
