JOB DESCRIPTION

As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with clients. Work at the remand center is often routine-oriented and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be held in remand for long periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand center, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important to us. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since you will be working with your colleagues to run the operations, you need to have good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly. Good judgment and integrity are required in your professional practice. You must have a physical condition that allows you to act physically when the situation demands it.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• A completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Work experience from corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and social care.
• Knowledge in relevant fields, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• A valid driver's license (B).
