University of Borås is hiring a Teaching Assistant

Your Responsibilities

As a teaching assistant at the Department of Library and Information Science, you will have a varied and meaningful role. Part of your work will involve being a mentor for students who have been granted targeted pedagogical support. This means supporting the student in planning and structuring their studies, in accordance with the support outlined in the student's NAIS decision.

In addition to mentoring, your tasks may also include supervision, grading, laboratory work, workshops, and seminar activities within our undergraduate programs. It may also involve contributing to pedagogical development, participating in research, developing course materials, or supporting the department's communication. The tasks will be adapted based on your profile and competencies.

You will work closely with our teachers and especially with the department's coordinator for mentoring. Together, we create a good learning environment for our students.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is enrolled in a program at the University of Borås, Academy of Library, Information, Pedagogy, and IT. You need to be studying at an advanced level or in the third year of your bachelor's program and have good and documented skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage to have:

  • pedagogical training and previous experience in teaching/mentoring.
  • previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • good academic results and demonstrated interest in scientific activities.

Your Employment

The position as a teaching assistant is governed by the Higher Education Ordinance (HF Chapter 5). The appointment is for one year with a working percentage of 25–50%, as agreed. The start date is August 15, 2025, or as agreed. The place of employment is Borås. Diary number: PA2025/119.
