Recreation Leader for Youth Operations

You will be part of a fantastic team at Youth Operations that is passionate about improving the upbringing conditions for children and young people and making a real difference.

What can we offer you?

The assignment involves conducting quality youth operations as well as area-based work in Falköping municipality.

You are expected to participate and contribute to the municipality's collective work on safety issues for children and young people as well as work on the upbringing conditions for children and young people. You will contribute to developing the administration's work with youth democracy and the work with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. You will work independently but in close collaboration with the target group and appropriate actors, both internally and externally. You will work during the day, evenings, and in some cases weekends.

Who are we?

Youth Operations is a collective name for all our activities that focus on children and young people's leisure. This includes 5 leisure centers and a Youth House, area-based work, safety work, youth participation, events, group activities, and holiday activities. We work area-based, in close collaboration with local actors. We operate according to European principles and guidelines for local open leisure and youth operations and we are part of the KEKS network – quality and competence in collaboration.

What are we looking for in you?

To succeed in the role of recreation leader, you are positive, creative, and solution-oriented. Furthermore, you are engaged and relationship-building and have the ability to connect with young people in a simple and natural way. You thrive in a varied and challenging environment and are passionate about supporting and encouraging young people's ideas. You are structured and have the ability to organize things both alone and together with colleagues and the target group.

Your ability to collaborate is good and you enjoy working together, both in your own work group and with external contacts. As we are expected to create collaborations within and outside municipal operations, it is important that you are professional in your role and can act as an ambassador for the operations and for Falköping municipality, as well as being a good networker.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

You should be driven by the desire to support young people in their personal and social development.

You should:

• have a post-secondary degree with a focus on social work, pedagogy, or another area deemed suitable by the employer
• have experience in similar work, in open and/or targeted youth operations
• have experience leading various types of groups/networks
• have experience in intercultural work, norm criticism, gender equality, and participation
• have experience creating music, events, and stage offerings with and for young people
• have a driver's license
