PO Halland
The Halland Police Area is one of five police areas in the West police region, headquartered in Halmstad. The Halland Police Area spans six municipalities and is divided into four local police areas: Halmstad, Falkenberg, Varberg, and Kungsbacka. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office.
Local Police Area Halmstad
The Local Police Area Halmstad is part of the Halland Police Area. Within the local police area, there are response and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, and support and service.
Support and Service
The station command group is part of the Support/Service 1 group and consists of seven employees. In your daily work, you will have close contact with response personnel, on-call investigation leaders, external commanders, and detention staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a station commander, you have a central role in the internal operations, both as the operational manager and supervisor, as well as the obvious contact person in many different matters. Your workday is varied with significant responsibility for, among other things, the operation, protection, security, and evacuation of the police station.
In many cases, you act as the extended arm of the LPO management and must be able to collaborate effectively, drive its issues, and operate according to the decisions made in the local police area. As the operational manager, you ensure that operations are conducted according to the intentions and directives of the Police Authority, efficiently and cost-consciously in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and other rules.
Commonly occurring job responsibilities:
- responsibility for detention operations with supervisory review and ensuring compliance with regulations and instructions in FAP 102-1 (on police detention facilities)
- supervision of Station Command Administrators and detention officers
- responsibility for order and security at the police station, including handling alarms that terminate at the police station
- handling of seized weapons, in cases where they are not part of an investigation
- handling of person alerts and initial measures regarding missing persons for whom no rescue service is ongoing
- some work environment tasks and work environment responsibility regarding personnel within the area of responsibility
- handling and decision-making regarding assistance requests for LPO Halmstad
- leading deployments
- handling of Priority 5 cases
- managing urgent staffing issues outside office hours
- other tasks as decided within the region/LPO
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who:
- are a police officer according to the Ordinance (2014:1105) on education for police officers
- have several years of experience working as a police officer
- have good computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new computer systems
It is advantageous if you also have:
- broad experience in police operations that the employer deems relevant
- work experience as a Station Commander or similar function
- experience in leadership, project management, or similar assignments
- experience in investigative work in an on-call environment or work at a command center
- good local knowledge and understanding of the problem areas in the Halland Police Area

Since the assignment involves collaboration and many points of contact, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are attentive in your interactions with others, and resolve any conflicts in a constructive manner. You have high integrity and are confident in making decisions under sometimes high workloads. You recognize the strengths of individual team members when leading and distributing work while inspiring and motivating your colleagues. As a station commander, you act for equal treatment with a holistic view and understanding of the Police Authority's mission and goals.
