We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a fraud investigator within the IT Crime Center based in Sundsvall.

Police Region North

Police Region North encompasses Sweden's four northernmost counties, has just over 2,000 employees, and consists of four police areas: Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Jämtland, and Norrbotten. The region also has four regional units: Operational, Investigation, Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Office, which report directly to the regional police chief.

The Regional Fraud Center is located in Sundsvall and is part of the Regional IT Crime Section at the Police's regional investigation unit. We are responsible for the influx of all reports of fraud, benefit fraud, violations of the Money Laundering Act, IT crimes, and other economic crimes in Police Region North. The Regional Fraud Center collaborates with the region's four police areas and their fraud groups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an investigator for the fraud group, you will work on investigating economic crime in both police-led and prosecutor-led investigations. You will closely collaborate with other groups in the investigation section, local police areas within the police area, the regional fraud center, and the Prosecutor's Office. You will plan and conduct interviews and other investigative measures based on the directives and focus of the lead investigator. Cases can be both extensive and complex, and you are expected to analyze and compile various types of information clearly and understandably.

Fraud crimes are constantly evolving, and part of the job involves staying at the forefront and learning about new types of crimes and methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Police degree or other relevant academic education, or other relevant work experience of at least two years in recent times, as deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Swedish B driver's license
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

Desirable

  • Work experience in investigative/analytical work from a law enforcement agency such as the Police Authority, Customs, Coast Guard, Tax Agency, Economic Crime Authority, or other activities deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, business economics
  • Work experience in interpreting and applying laws and economic documents as deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Experience in conducting interviews/one-on-one conversations

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and flexible in their work approach. The tasks require that you are attentive and service-oriented with good communication skills. You are analytical and meticulous and have the ability to explain the complex both visually and in words and text. You can drive tasks efficiently both independently and in close collaboration internally with colleagues and externally with other parties. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
