Communicator at the Army Staff
Do you want to work strategically, operationally, and tactically with the Army's communication? Are you motivated by taking on your own responsibility? Are you looking forward to developing and being challenged? The Army Staff is currently seeking a communicator to support and develop internal and external communication for both the Army and the Army Staff.
About the position
In the role of communicator, you will provide support in communication matters, both at the Army Staff and to the Army, which is the largest branch of the Armed Forces. Currently, the Army has 18 organizational units with their own communication sections, which are functionally led by the Army Staff. In the field of communication, you will contribute to the Army being perceived as modern, relevant, and deterrent. You will be part of the Army Staff's communication section, which currently consists of a communication manager and two communicators. Organizationally, the section belongs to the staff department, one of four departments at the Army Staff. You will report to the Army's communication manager.
Your main responsibilities
- Be responsible for, plan, implement, and follow up on communication efforts during operations and exercises, both army-specific and joint branch
- Independently collect, analyze, process, and produce information in text and image for internal and external use (e.g., talking points, web texts, social media posts, etc.)
- Support crisis communication and other external communication
- Support the Army's leaders and employees in communication matters
- Support the Armed Forces' overall communication objectives
- Participate in monitoring developments in national and international army issues
Qualifications
- Academic education in communication or documented knowledge and experience that the employer assesses as equivalent
- At least five years of documented, current, and relevant experience working independently as a communicator in a government agency or larger organization
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good knowledge of English – both spoken and written
- Valid B driver's license (manual transmission)
Meritorious
- Experience working within the Armed Forces
- Experience in graphic design, photography, and film
- Experience with social media
- Experience in crisis communication
