Your Role

As an ILS Engineer with us, you will play a central role in ensuring that our aircraft operate efficiently and sustainably during operational use. Your work will focus on developing and maintaining maintenance solutions for Gripen E/F and other product areas. You will work on technical and process-related investigations to create high availability throughout the aircraft's lifecycle.

You will be an important link between the design development work for various subsystems in the aircraft and the engineers who produce technical documentation.

We also produce technical documentation, Service Bulletins, to carry out modifications on aircraft delivered to our customers.

Your responsibilities may include:

Working on technical and process-related investigations within ILS and adapting methods for Gripen E/F
Working at the interface between internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational reliability and availability
Supporting the development of Service Bulletins for modifications and installations
Contributing to building competence within Gripen and driving your own operational investigations

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with several years of relevant work experience in engineering, but recent graduates are also welcome to apply. You have analytical skills and can see the big picture when it comes to technology and cost. You enjoy taking initiative and work in a structured manner, while being communicative and thriving in a team-oriented environment. Your curiosity and desire to develop will be a great advantage in this role.

We believe you have a background as a bachelor’s degree engineer in e.g. mechanical engineering or a master’s degree engineer, or equivalent experience. To succeed in this role, you also need to be proficient in both Swedish and English, as our documentation and communication occur in both languages.

Requirements:

Engineering education, e.g. bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or master’s degree
Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

Practical experience in performing maintenance or repairs
Previous experience in the ILS field
Experience in aircraft or equipment maintenance
Experience working in project teams

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
