Alimak is a world leader in rack and pinion driven elevators and vertical access solutions. With us, you follow the entire chain – from idea and design to testing in our own prototype workshop – and see how your code and control system lift people and materials around the world. We are now looking for an automation engineer with at least one year of experience in elevator/lift controls who wants to grow with our R&D team.

Your responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission control systems for new and existing construction and industrial elevators.
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLC, HMI, and network solutions with a focus on safety and accessibility.
• Collaborate closely with electrical designers, mechanical and software engineers in project teams.
• Contribute ideas for energy-efficient drive systems, smart landing calls, and connected elevator functions.
• Document according to the lift directive and machinery regulations and support our testing and certifications.

Your background & skills

• At least 1 year of practical experience in automation or control systems for elevators, lifting systems, or comparable industrial equipment.
• Engineering degree (e.g., electrical engineering, automation & mechatronics, energy systems). Other education or experience that provides equivalent competence is also of interest.
• Some familiarity with PLC platforms (preferably Siemens TIA Portal, Codesys) and troubleshooting in the field.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Proactive, curious, and comfortable driving your own tasks – Take Ownership is your natural working style.
