About Us

Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a regional clinic with locations at the three hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We conduct approximately 60,000 visits per year and provide both surgical and outpatient services, including emergency services. The Eskilstuna location is the largest with about 45 employees. Our team consists of doctors, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, nursing assistants, and administrative staff, all with different competencies to provide our patients with the best care.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse at our eye clinic, you will have a varied and dynamic role. In the operating department, you will assist the doctor during various surgeries, including cataract surgeries, and be responsible for handling instruments, equipment, and sterility. We have fast workflows and a large number of patients, which requires great flexibility on your part.

Your tasks in the outpatient clinic include preparing patients for doctor visits with various examinations, but you may also have your own independent consultations, such as fundus photography and visual field examinations. A significant patient group with us consists of those who have problems with the macula. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after training. Providing advice via TeleQ is also part of the nurse's responsibilities, but this will only be relevant after you have gained some experience in our operations.

At the eye clinic, it is important for us to provide you with a proper introduction/training so that you feel secure when you start working independently. You will have a mentor whom you can always turn to with questions and concerns, and of course, other colleagues will always be close at hand.

Your Qualifications

In your formal basic qualifications, you are a licensed nurse in health care, an ophthalmic nurse, or an operating room nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. You are attentive, responsible, have a good ability to collaborate within and between professions, and have a positive attitude towards your work.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. If you are interested in deepening your knowledge and skills, there is an opportunity to further your education to become an ophthalmic nurse.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with start date according to agreement. Daytime Monday - Friday.
