Your new job

We are looking for an engaged and qualified sign language interpreter who wants to be an important link between teachers and students in our classes for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in grades F-6. As an interpreter with us, you will follow the students throughout the school day and contribute to an accessible and inclusive learning environment.

In addition to interpreting duties, we would also like you to hold sign language teaching sessions for the school staff as needed to strengthen our collective communication skills.

Kålgårdsskolan F-6 is centrally located in Jönköping with proximity to nature, culture, and transportation. The school has after-school care and classes for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

The Kålgården school area consists of a school with nearly 240 students, of which about 15 are in the deaf and hard-of-hearing class. Within walking distance, you will find Rocksjön, the city library, the cultural house Spira, and Upptech. We have our own sports hall directly adjacent to the current school building, and a short bus ride away are sports facilities such as Husqvarna Garden and Rosenlundsbadet.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant education and experience as a sign language interpreter, as well as good knowledge of both Swedish sign language and Swedish. You are flexible, attentive, and have a strong commitment to supporting students in their learning. You enjoy collaborating in a team and have a positive attitude towards the school's development work.
