About the Company

Alimak is a world leader in rack and pinion driven elevators and vertical access solutions. Here, you will follow the entire chain – from concept and design to testing in our own prototype workshop – and see your design lift people and materials around the world. We are growing and are now strengthening our R&D team with a senior electrical designer who wants to help drive the next generation of elevator and automation solutions.

Your Responsibilities

You will be part of a team of 13 electrical designers and automation engineers in Skellefteå. We work in three tracks: order design, new development, and product maintenance – and focus on innovation, safety, and shared success.

Lead and develop electrical systems / controls for new and existing construction and industrial elevators.
Take the lead in smaller projects and coach colleagues in electrical & automation.
Work in Cadett Elsa (meritorious), manage documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., the lift directive and machinery regulations), perform reliable power calculations.
Contribute to the innovation track around smart features – e.g., energy-efficient drive systems, predictive service, and connected camera solutions.

Your Background/Your Qualities

> 8 years of documented experience in electrical design/automation, preferably from the lifting, industrial, or machinery sectors.
We prefer that you have a master's degree – for example in electrical engineering, automation & mechatronics, energy systems, or technical physics with a focus on electrical power, but we place great importance on your mastery of advanced electrical design and your passion for safe, smart, and sustainable technology.
Confident in design and component selection; experienced in interpreting IEC and EN standards.
Safety-conscious, structured, and enjoys sharing knowledge – you thrive in the mentor role.
Fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
Meritorious if you are proficient in PLC/visual systems (Siemens TIA Portal, Codesys, etc.).
