We are looking for someone who is responsible, committed, and enjoys teaching. Of course, you also need to feel comfortable in and around water. Previous experience in leadership roles related to swimming, swimming schools, and/or other teaching is a plus. However, we place great importance on personal qualities during recruitment.
ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
Mölndal's General Swimming Association (MASS) is a non-profit, member-driven organization that conducts swimming instruction and training for children, youth, and adults. We carry out all our activities at Åbybadet in Mölndal and follow the guidelines of Swedish Swimming. MASS is an association that welcomes everyone and works for heart, development, and success.
ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
We are looking for someone who wants a leadership role in our swimming and technique school during the autumn (and beyond), starting in week 35. The schedule is set for one to three days a week (week afternoons from 16:00, Saturday mornings/afternoons or Sunday mornings/afternoons), with session lengths varying between three to four hours.
In the swimming and technique school, you will meet children aged 4-12 and teach the basics of swimming. You will be active in the water to demonstrate and correct the children, working in teams of two to three leaders, sharing responsibility for the groups.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- This is a volunteer leadership role. Compensation in the form of hourly pay is issued monthly.
- You need to be 16 years old during the year to apply, as this is the minimum age to participate in the training offered.
- Mandatory participation for upcoming leadership roles in the introductory training on Thursday, August 14, around 09:30-16:00. You also need to be able to attend a kickoff meeting during week 34 (exact date will be communicated later).
- Previous experience in education and/or swimming is appreciated, as well as completed training through Swedish Swimming or the Swedish Lifesaving Society.
- The association requires that you, as a leader, undergo CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training during the autumn (2h), either through us or another provider. The training is funded by the association.
- You will also need to present a criminal record extract to become a leader.
