Special Education Teacher Focused on Knowledge Development and Student Health

Vittra Schools, one of Sweden's leading independent school companies with 24 preschools and primary schools across the country. Together, we are responsible for approximately 8000 children and students and have about 1000 employees. We started our first school in 1993 and have been part of AcadeMedia, the largest educational company in the Nordic region, since 2008.

Vittra is a socially engaged preschool and primary school where children and students learn about themselves and the world. With us, conscious children and students are shaped, receiving the right tools and knowledge to create a better and more sustainable society. We achieve this with our unique pedagogical direction based on three parts: conscious learning, courageous culture, and clear structure.

We are expanding our team

Do you want to help create a safe and developing school environment where student health, relationships, and knowledge development go hand in hand? We at Vittra Landborgen in Helsingborg are now looking for an engaged and experienced special education teacher who wants to become an important part of our team and work with a focus on students' learning and development.

With us, you will work in a school where safety, community, and personal development are central parts of everyday life. We have close cooperation between school and leisure activities, as well as a strong student health team. As a special education teacher, you will play a central role in the school's work to ensure that all students receive the support they need to reach their full potential – both academically and socially.

About the assignment

You will be a key person in the school's student health team (EHT) and work both strategically and operationally. This means that you will teach students in need of special support and be involved in the school's systematic work with mapping, analysis, and follow-up of students' knowledge development.

The work involves:

  • Planning and implementing special educational interventions based on students' individual needs.
  • Participating in and leading pedagogical discussions and processes regarding special support.
  • Conducting and analyzing tests to identify support needs early.
  • Contributing to preventive and promoting student health work.
  • Collaborating with students, guardians, teachers, and other professionals within the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a special education degree, preferably with a focus on language, reading, and writing development and/or mathematics. A special education degree/special pedagogy degree is a requirement to proceed in the recruitment process. (Attach proof of education).
  • Has experience working systematically with student health and academic results.
  • Has a very good ability to analyze students' needs and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Works solution-focused and has a high degree of professional integrity and collaboration skills.
  • Is structured and can plan, implement, and follow up on interventions at both individual and group levels.
  • Has good digital competence and is used to using tools to document and analyze students' development.
  • Has broad knowledge of neuropsychiatric variations and clarifying pedagogy.
  • Knowledge and experience of working based on RTI (Response to Intervention) is considered an advantage.

The importance of direct student interaction and a systemic perspective

To succeed in the role, we see that you have a strong conviction that it is in the daily interaction with students – in teaching, in conversations, in the relational – that the deepest understanding of both the student's needs and the challenges of teaching emerges.

By working closely with students, you gain important information to make accurate mappings and adjustments. This knowledge is crucial when we broaden our perspective and work strategically at the group and organizational level.

Therefore, we are looking for a special education teacher who has a systemic perspective and understands how work at the individual level is connected to long-term development work at the school level – and who wants to contribute to both student development and the school's quality work.

We offer:

  • An engaged and positive work environment where you can help shape the school's special educational work.
  • A culture characterized by collaboration, development, and strong student focus.
  • Participation in a school where Vittra's abilities permeate teaching – focusing on strengthening students' learning strategies and self-image.

As part of AcadeMedia, you will have access to our benefits portal, where you can easily see your entire compensation, including salary and benefits. We also offer an employee card with discounts at well-known brands.
