Storumans Municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland. Approximately 6,000 people live here, with just over half in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. JOB DESCRIPTION

As a part-time firefighter, you will help both the community and individuals when accidents occur. You will constantly face new challenges as you never know in advance what alarms you will respond to. This can include fires, traffic accidents, automatic fire alarms, assistance to ambulances and police, and more. We are now looking for firefighters in Storuman, Hemavan, and Tärnaby.

Normally, as a part-time firefighter, you will be on call every fourth week and must be reachable 24/7 via a pager. Drills are conducted regularly once per on-call week in the evenings.

If you are one of those we are looking for, we will contact you and provide more information about the various tests that selected candidates will undergo, including:

• Fitness and health tests on a treadmill and ergometer bike.
• Practical tests

After employment, you will receive the training needed to work as a firefighter. The training will be paid for.

Your primary employer must approve your work as a part-time firefighter.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be employed as a firefighter, you must have a permanent position with another employer.

The important job of a firefighter requires you to be in good health and able to swim.

If you are hired but lack a C driver's license, the rescue service will cover part of that training. A B driver's license is required.
