About the Role

Do you want an exciting everyday life and work for a fossil-free future? As a Network Engineer/Power System Analyst with us, you will have the opportunity to influence tomorrow's climate-smart society and create the electricity grid of the future.

Sweden has initiated a historic transition and is facing extensive electrification of society. To demonstrate our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue enabling increased electrification of Sweden, we aim to distribute twice as much electricity in our grid by 2030 and to transfer electricity with 99.99% delivery reliability.

This means that Vattenfall Eldistribution needs to continue growing, and we are now looking for a Network Engineer/Power System Analyst who has experience with electricity networks (local or regional) and an interest in analysis and calculation.

Responsibilities

As a Network Engineer/Power System Analyst with us, you will become part of the Selective Planning unit with about 30 colleagues who have extensive technical expertise and experience with Sweden's regional and local networks. The work we do contributes to increasing Vattenfall's electricity network delivery reliability and is therefore an important piece of the puzzle in Sweden's green electrification.

In your role, you will primarily use your power engineering expertise for complex analyses and calculations of relay protection settings, as well as be a requirement setter in the design of relay protection systems that ensure reliable and safe fault isolation in our electricity grid.

You will work with:

  • Investigations and disturbance analyses during operational disruptions
  • Development of selective plans for local and regional networks
  • Fault current calculations
  • Participating in project groups for investment projects
  • Management of control facilities
  • Internal development work of working methods

We primarily work from our offices but have regular contact with operational staff and control facility engineers in the field. Additionally, we often collaborate with other units within the company, such as: Network Analysis, Project Technology, and Power Quality.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a degree in engineering at the post-secondary level in power engineering, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent
  • experience with electricity networks (local or regional)
  • an interest in calculations and analyses
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

  • working with masked electricity networks
  • development of selective plans
  • working with control facilities
  • working with HVDC
  • programming in, for example, Python, VBA, C#, or similar
  • project management

We offer

In addition to being part of shaping the smart energy society of the future, we offer a workplace where you constantly learn new things that enable multiple development opportunities. It is important that life works as a whole, and therefore we care that our employees experience a good balance between work and leisure.
