Do you want to work against racism and strengthen young people's influence through culture, participation, and meaningful evening activities? Then we are looking for you to help build something meaningful in Uddevalla together with MiM Knowledge Center.

Location: Uddevalla

About the assignment

As a coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating two central initiatives in Uddevalla:

Future Fridays (activity funded by Uddevalla municipality): A Friday activity where young people (15–26 years) develop their own projects in areas such as community life, culture, and entrepreneurship – with support from adults and youth leaders.
I Own the City (project funded by the Swedish Postcode Foundation): A project that combats racism through artistic expressions, cultural programs, roundtable discussions, and an anti-racist cultural festival.

You will work closely with the target group, lead processes, and create participation with a focus on youth in Dalaberg and Hovhult.

Your assignment includes

Planning and implementation of the evening activity Future Fridays (Fridays)
Coordination of activities within I Own the City – open call, cultural programs, festival, and dialogue meetings
Support for young people in driving projects, seeking funding, and expressing themselves through art and community engagement
Collaboration with local actors, schools, and the municipality
Support and leadership of youth leaders and volunteers

About the position

Scope: Part-time, evening work required
Duration: Initially 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Location: Uddevalla, focusing on the neighborhoods of Dalaberg and Hovhult

We are looking for someone who

Has experience in youth work, project management, or cultural activities
Is accustomed to working inclusively with young people from diverse backgrounds
Has a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with other actors
Is flexible, structured, and enjoys both practical tasks and creative work
Is passionate about anti-racism, justice, and youth participation

Meritorious:

Experience working in socio-economically disadvantaged areas
Educational background in pedagogy or social work
Experience and/or training in artistic or creative methods
Local knowledge
