Creative Program Producer with a Passion for Young Perspectives and Creativity
The position is a fixed-term part-time employment (50% for a maximum of one year). Start date September 1, 2025, or as agreed.
Nationalmuseum is expanding its public offerings for young adults and is seeking reinforcement for our public team with a program producer for a 50% position for a maximum of one year.
Nationalmuseum is looking for someone who wants to help create a vibrant arena for culture, art, and participation. You have experience in producing public programs and coordinating creative collaborations with young adults across various artistic expressions.
Together with us, you want to realize the museum's vision: to reach more people and become a significant place for active cultural meetings, conversations, and co-creation.
You are an initiative-driven producer with several years of experience in realizing ideas – from the initial thought to the finished event.
You are both visionary and practical and have a relevant network among young creators.
You are passionate about opening up art, creating new contexts, and finding ways for young adults to feel at home in the museum – not just as an audience, but as co-creators.
You will be part of the museum's educational unit and the public team that works with the museum's entire offering, with a particular focus on the museum's open Thursday evenings with free admission.
You will work closely with the museum's responsible program coordinator and the museum's other producers of workshops, tours, and programs.
Your responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and executing program activities in relation to timelines and budgets. This includes developing program concepts, liaising with participants, and administration.
- Planning and coordinating co-creation projects with active young creators/associations, etc., as well as other programs that may be relevant to the museum's Thursday initiatives.
- Having practical primary responsibility for executing the activities in collaboration with the museum's other staff. You are often on-site and implement activities practically, from taking care of artists and participants to setting up and restoring venues.
- Coordinating and updating communication about events and program activities in close collaboration with the museum's communications department.
Requirements
- You must have documented work experience of at least 3 years in executing public programs, in collaboration with cultural institutions/festivals or similar activities.
- You must have documented experience in driving co-productions and co-creation projects, focusing on young adults.
- You must be able to communicate well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
Merits
- You have education in project management or equivalent.
- You are proficient in and can communicate well in languages other than Swedish and English.
- You have a good knowledge of contemporary cultural life and are an active observer of cultural trends that engage young adults.
- You have some technical competence and can handle microphones and speakers for simpler arrangements.
The central tasks are operational and close to daily activities, where the role requires good organizational skills and the ability to independently drive, coordinate, and complete program activities. Collaboration with others is ongoing and also requires good teamwork skills and social competence.
It is highly meritorious if you are a skilled observer of the external environment with a good knowledge of the cultural field and can present ideas for both in-depth and unexpected collaborations.
The position as a program producer for young adults is part of Nationalmuseum's educational unit and reports to the head of education. Location is in central Stockholm.
In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
