Telge Nät is looking for a Strategic Planning Engineer for District Heating

Responsibilities and Duties

In the role of strategic planning engineer, you will investigate and analyze network status based on collected data and information from operations staff and colleagues. You will work with reinvestment and new investment planning, assessing and compiling investment needs to maintain the functionality of the network while contributing to its expansion and reinforcement.

The planning of our fiber, electricity, and district heating networks is done in close collaboration with the planning of water and sewage networks. As a network owner, we have high demands to ensure delivery to both existing and new customers. Therefore, we need to expand into new areas while meeting increased demands for capacity and energy efficiency.

The work also includes preparing documentation for investment decisions, conducting risk and vulnerability analyses, and developing tools and documentation systems that support effective management and profitable network expansion.

To meet the challenges of the role, experience in design, project management, and operations is needed. This provides a necessary understanding of the actual conditions in the network based on documentation and site visits, which is crucial for early risk assessment and feasibility of the planned installation work. It also creates a good foundation for dialogue with our own project management, operations, and marketing departments as we collaboratively find the best solutions.

Our Wishlist

We would like to get to know you and learn more about what you can offer. We prefer that your educational background is in civil or engineering with training in energy systems, energy technology, or industrial economics; for example, energy - environment - management. Alternatively, you may have taken the long route with broad experience in thermal distribution systems and now wish to work in a client and expert role.

You have good knowledge and experience in requirements specification and project methodology. You have the ability to compile large amounts of information into decision-making documents for profitable investments based on a good technical and economic understanding. We also prefer that you have experience in asset management, district heating and cooling business logic, as well as NIS/GIS systems.

As a person, you are analytical and a good network builder who captures needs and plans in meetings with people. You have a strong drive, are independent and confident in your abilities, while also being a good communicator. Of course, you are structured, interested, and have a technical understanding that makes it natural for you to follow developments in your field. You also have the ability to lead and train junior employees.

A valid driver's license (B) is required. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Bonus Points

We do not expect you to know everything, but if you have previous experience with Digpro Heating and Netsim, it will be a plus as these are the tools we use today.
