Brinellskolan is a high school in Fagersta municipality.

The school offers ten national programs as well as introductory programs, language introduction, apprenticeship training, and adapted high school. The school has just under 500 students and 9 out of 10 teachers have teaching certification. The school has a well-stocked library and good cooperation with companies, universities, and colleges. Your mission

We are looking for a school librarian with commitment and pedagogical drive. As a school librarian, you are part of the educational activities and have close collaboration with the school's teachers. You will work outwardly in a central and well-visited environment.

You will promote reading and have a strong desire to focus on reading, as well as finding ways for young people to appreciate reading books. In collaboration with students and teachers, you will contribute to theme days related to literature, among other things. You will conduct and lead book discussions and book circles and have overall responsibility for administrative tasks such as media management, magazine subscriptions, book purchases, and library premises. Furthermore, you will have a student focus in your work, where tasks include teaching critical thinking and information retrieval in connection with, for example, high school projects.

Tasks within the elementary school library may also become relevant. Part-time work is possible if desired.

Your qualifications and merits

We are looking for someone with relevant education as a librarian. You have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards everyone. It is important that you are self-driven, meticulous, and structured, as well as flexible and able to quickly switch between different tasks. You have good knowledge of information retrieval and literature, as well as experience working with children and young people.

It is considered an advantage if you are familiar with or have experience with the library systems BookIt and/or WeLib.

We would also like you to have a B driver's license.

For employment, a police record extract is required.

Recruitment may occur during the application period. Interviews will be conducted continuously. A probationary period of 6 months will apply.
