The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Vemyra, located outside Sollefteå, receives school-age boys up to 16 years old with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team alongside treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You also help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. The work may include case management. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

• Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that the employer deems equivalent.
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values, being a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth and/or clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily establish good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

The position is a fixed-term employment from June 25 to August 25.
