Audio 55 AB is rapidly expanding its operations year by year, and we are now looking for a technician with experience in/knowledge of repair and troubleshooting of small electronics (PCB boards).

In this position, you will be responsible for our service/claims department, with the primary task of performing troubleshooting, repairs, and investigating the cause of failures on incoming claims.

The position entails:

1) Testing: You will test incoming claims on a test bench to confirm the fault description.

2) Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting of PCBs and their components through visual inspection, measuring components, etc. A good understanding of how the components work, interact, and affect each other is required.

3) Communication with manufacturers/suppliers: During the troubleshooting phase, support is often available from representatives of various brands and their other service workshops in Europe. In some cases, there is also the possibility of direct contact with the manufacturer/engineer behind the product. Communication usually occurs in English.

4) Cause assessment: Once the fault has been established, an assessment of the cause is made, which also forms the basis for the warranty assessment communicated in the troubleshooting report to the customer.

5) Repair: Repair through replacement of components, often individual small components. Rarely entire PCBs. Skill and precision with soldering iron, hot air, and related tools are required.

6) Customer contact: A small amount of customer contact via mainly email is included in the job. This includes follow-ups during the case process, answering questions regarding claims, etc. Also some technical support.

Your profile:

1) Education: No specific education is required, but education in relevant types of electronics may be an advantage.

2) Knowledge: This is where we place the greatest emphasis. Whether you are self-taught by building DIY amplifiers or have trained as an electronics engineer, the knowledge you have and its relevance to the role is what matters. You need to have a very good understanding of how amplifiers work, and preferably also knowledge of 12V DC systems, which the majority of our products operate on.

3) Experience: No specific work experience is required. However, previous experience in repairing/troubleshooting amplifiers or similar electronics (either through work or privately) is highly meritorious.

4) Person: We are looking for someone who is social, solution-oriented, meticulous, and works well in a small group. We are a tight-knit team with relatively few employees, so it is important that we click with each other. You have a strong drive and a strong desire to work. You enjoy working independently with responsibility for your areas and set your own schedule. You give and receive constructive criticism and work to improve and streamline the company and your work.

About the Company

Audio 55 AB is a company that started in 2017 by Rasmus Nilsson. Rasmus has previously worked in large audio and video stores, both in car audio and home audio, and had about 8 years of experience in the industry before starting his own company.

Our operations are currently divided approximately 20/80 between retail sales/online sales. Our primary website is www.Audio55.se for sales in Sweden, but we also have .fi, .no, and .eu where we sell to the rest of Europe.
