Drottning Blanka's High School in Skövde was established in 2010 and offers vocational and university preparatory education in the Social Science Program (Behavioral Science - Criminology), the Economics Program (Economics), the Hotel and Tourism Program, the Child and Recreation Program (Recreation and Health), the Health and Care Program (Emergency Care), and the Hairdressing and Styling Program. The school has approximately 400 students and 40 staff members. We are now looking for a teacher in social studies and law for our operations.

Your Assignment

We are now offering a position at 70-80% for teaching in the subjects of Hair Styling and Makeup Techniques and Marketing. Mentorship may also be included in the assignment. As a mentor, you are the natural contact between the school, student, and guardian. Teaching primarily takes place in the Hairdressing and Styling Program, but teaching in marketing may occur in other vocational programs. You will be part of your subject team and your program team and are expected to participate in and contribute to the school's joint processes. As a vocational teacher, you also have a responsibility for collaboration with our APL placements and follow-up of students' APL education.

Your Profile

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is a trained vocational teacher, or has extensive experience in hair and makeup styling and marketing work. We seek someone with a strong personal commitment to learning and the ability to develop our students' knowledge. You are structured, solution-oriented, and confident in your professional role. You have a good ability to create clear frameworks and good relationships in the classroom. We value that you are open to collaboration, enjoy being part of a collegium, and are willing to contribute to the school's development. You are positive about collaborating with our local business community to create and work on projects related to the students' future careers.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months (provided you meet the requirements of the Education Act for eligibility). Start date 2025-08-06.
