The Gislaved Parish consists of eight congregations and is located in the Växjö Diocese, Jönköping County - right in one of Sweden's most business-dense areas.

Our urban areas and rural parishes are marked by cohesion, community, and a strong drive for the region where the church is an important participant. We have fantastic nature, and Isabergtoppen offers adventures both in winter and summer.

We are looking for a 100% assistant pastor with primary duties in the Anderstorp congregation. The Anderstorp congregation is run by committed staff - both employees, volunteers, and elected representatives. We want to continue developing volunteer staff, and our young leaders are important in both children's and youth work as well as worship development. We want the church to be a place where one can ask questions, find answers, and develop as a person and in faith throughout life.

Our congregation is characterized by openness towards society through collaboration with associations and schools. Gislaveds pastorat runs a preschool with departments in Anderstorp and Gislaved. Many children participate in our activities and are happy to attend Family Services and Spaghetti Services. We have many confirmands and a strong youth group that wants to continue to grow. We are involved in the initiative UMIV, Young Employees in Västbo, and have many young people participating in the initiative and holding volunteer positions in the congregation.

We believe that we build the congregation through services, discussion, and study groups that meet people's longing for faith and community. Our Bible study group regularly gathers about 25 people. We have just completed a “curious about Christian faith - group” and are planning to start a new group in the fall.

The congregation is part of Gislaveds pastorat, the northern part. It includes officiating and weekend duties in the Anderstorp, Bosebo, Gislaved, N Hestra, and Våthult congregations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• Ordained according to the Church of Sweden's order

• That you enjoy conversing and teaching people who are seeking answers to their questions about faith and life.
• That you like to embark on explorations with people, allowing them to find their way and supporting them.
• That you enjoy being with young people.
• That you feel comfortable meeting people of all ages, as baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals, and visits to the bereaved are part of the job.
• That you can work individually but, above all, together with other staff and volunteers.
• That you enjoy creating contacts and collaborating with other actors and are interested in development and change work.
