Yrkesgymnasiet in Linköping is seeking a licensed vocational teacher for the Hairdresser and Stylist program.
Even those with at least five years of work experience in these industries are welcome to apply. With us, students learn a profession from the ground up in real workplaces with experienced mentors. In this position, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge with the future workforce in the industry. More than half of the students' education time takes place in a workplace, providing them with a solid foundation and advantage in the job market. Our students are prepared in the best possible way for their future careers with the support of their mentors and engaged educators.
You will be responsible for the education and teaching in the program. As we are an apprenticeship school where students have at least 50% practical training, the position involves close contact with the students' workplaces and mentors, and relatively little independent teaching compared to a traditional high school education - as students primarily receive their education directly in the workplace.
It is important that you have good contacts or the ability to create a network with companies and industry professionals, as we actively collaborate with existing and new companies that mentor, develop, and educate our apprentice students and mentors.
The position also includes being a mentor and ensuring that all students in your program have a developing and secured APL placement within the industry. This is where your network and industry experience will come in handy.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed teacher for your program or has at least five years of experience in the industry and a strong drive to teach and mentor students.
- Is an excellent communicator and team player who can act as a bridge between school, students, and external partners.
- Has a valid driver's license (B).
- Has the ability to work independently while being team-oriented and collaborating with colleagues to best prepare students for their future careers.
Qualifications
A teaching degree or substantial experience in the industry and a desire to inspire and develop the next generation of workers in your field. A teaching license and pedagogical experience are desirable but not required. If you lack a vocational teacher's degree, you are expected to obtain the necessary qualifications within the framework of a training plan established upon hiring.
If you want to make a difference and have a significant role in the future hairdressing and styling industry – apply today!
