Ambulansen Gällivare is one of 15 stations in the Ambulance Service Norrbotten. Our catchment area is the entire Gällivare Municipality and we work across a large field that includes urban environments, rural areas, underground mines, and mountain regions.


We are looking for
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and preferably have further training as a paramedic, but this is not a requirement. You have held a driver's license for 3 consecutive years with at least a B driver's license and have good driving experience.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a person, you find it easy to collaborate with different colleagues. In your interactions with patients and their relatives, it requires you to be attentive and have a good understanding of people in various difficult situations. You possess personal maturity and have the ability to make independent decisions with good judgment. You must be able to handle stress, maintain calm, and work effectively in stressful situations. In your interactions with people, you act professionally and build trust. Good physical condition is required as heavy lifting is part of the job. Physical tests are conducted before employment.

This is what you will work with
In the ambulance service, you will work with a unique societal function consisting of providing pre-hospital emergency care around the clock, where employees meet patients of all ages who have suffered acute illness or injury in the patient's home, in outdoor environments, or at an accident or injury site. Together with a licensed nurse, you are the ambulance crew that is often the first on the scene, and your skills will be put to use as you and the nurse make the first important assessment and provide the most urgent care. The nurse has the medical responsibility and decides on nursing and medical measures based on care needs and refers to the appropriate level of care, but the work is a team effort.

You will encounter different situations and challenges where your intervention can be crucial for the patient and make a difference for others. In the crew, you work closely together with each other and other professional groups. Organizationally, the ambulance service is its own organization under the Acute Care block. We collaborate with emergency departments, health centers, municipalities, rescue services, and police.

Information about the position
We can today offer you both permanent employment and long-term temporary positions. The positions are full-time and the working hours are scheduled for day and night shifts with on-call duty on a night vehicle. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
