Job Description

Welcome to the Heart Intensive Care Unit (HIA) and the cardiology department at Södersjukhuset! We are in an expansive phase and are looking for someone who wants a stimulating job, great development opportunities, and a fantastic team spirit.

The Heart Intensive Care Unit (HIA) at Södersjukhuset is an advanced care unit with 8 beds, where we manage patients with complex cardiological needs. Care is provided in well-equipped facilities and in close collaboration with the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MIVA) and the Intermediate Care Unit (IMA), with which we share the care floor.

Our team consists of qualified and specialist nurses in cardiology and intensive care, nursing assistants, cardiologists, intensive care physicians, internists, physiotherapists, social workers, and meal coordinators.

Patients under our care require heart monitoring, invasive blood pressure measurement via arterial catheter, inotropic medications, and non-invasive ventilation with CPAP, bilevel, and high-flow treatment.

We have close cooperation with our heart departments and intervention units at the clinic. During on-call hours, we staff the PCI lab as the responsible nurse and work there in a team with our colleagues from the intervention lab. We are also responsible for the care and sedation of patients needing emergency cardioversion. HIA is the receiving unit for FRAPP-EKG, and our nurses are responsible for the initial assessment of EKG and contact with the ambulance, a fun and skill-enhancing job.

Qualifications

The ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and handle emergency situations. Confident in your role, engaged, and solution-oriented. Good collaboration skills and interest in contributing to the team's development. Desirable: Specialist nurse with a focus on cardiology or intensive care.

Competence Requirements

Licensed nurse with at least 2 years of experience in cardiology, emergency care, and/or thoracic surgery. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1.
